Advantage Course
Welcome! Participants in this course will complete the following learning objectives:
- Investigate the mission of their organization and ways to manifest that mission though their own behavior;
- Explore the premise that all behavior, even challenging or dangerous behavior, is an attempt to meet a need;
- Examine the influence of their own behavior in increasing the risk or improving the safety of an environment;
- Learn how active observation plus an understanding of trauma can reduce the risk of challenging behavior;
- Identify strategies for interrupting the cycle of assault before a crisis actually occurs.

You have 45 days to complete your Pro-ACT Advantage course. After that time, your access to all course material will expire. Access days remaining for completion of your course will be indicated under the COURSE ACCESS STATUS heading at the bottom of the right column.
Please note: if you are completing the Advantage course as the first step towards certification, your Individual Reflection Worksheet as well as your Advantage Certificate of Completion are prerequisites to the next step in your instruction. Your Individual Reflection Worksheet can be printed once you begin your course. Your Certificate of Completion can be printed when you have successfully finished Chapter 5. Both of these documents must be submitted to the Pro-ACT In-service Instructor teaching the remainder of your certification course.
